Most Fun Cars to Drive in 2011… (so far)…

Posted on 20 August 2011 by admin

Cars were created for one simple purpose: transportation.  Appearance and style were not considered, and enjoyment certainly wasn’t factored in.  Today, cars are driven for the experience and pleasure. One of the first questions dealers are asked is: “How fun is this car to drive?”
Here are the 3 most fun cars to drive in 2011:

3) Cadillac CTS-V

The name Cadillac conjures up many different thoughts: Class, price, luxury.  In 2011, the name makes people think of fun. The new ride from General Motors promises one thing above all else: pleasure.

The Cadillac CTS-V accelerates from 0 to 60 as fast as some European sports cars.  The 19-inch wheels and high-performance tires mean that owners can remove the words “slow” and “paced” from their driving vocabulary.

Even at high speeds, the Cadillac CTS-V’s cabin is surprisingly quiet.  This allows drivers to enjoy music, audio books or conversation with passengers.  The body-type looks like it arrived out of a time machine.  Sharp angles and aggressive lines make the Cadillac CTS-V enjoyable even if you’re just looking at it.

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price: $62,165.

2) BMW M3

It doesn’t take much more than a glance at the BMW M3 to know that it is a fun car to drive.  The first-class interior, the European appearance, the racecar-like engine – all of these signs point to a vehicle that is anything but predictable or boring.

The BMW M3 has been on the road for more than 25 years.  In that time, it has garnered one of the most sterling reputations in all of automotive.  Drivers know that when they slide into the plush heart of the vehicle, they are going to experience more than just pedal-pushing and gear-shifting.

The V8 engine surprises drivers with 414 horsepower.  The tires are custom-designed to handle spontaneous direction changes.  And the twin-clutch capability makes changing gears almost unnoticeable. Very few cars shift as fast as this one does.

There’s only one problem with the BMW M3: drivers tend to forget where they live.

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price: $73,328.

1) Ford Mustang GT

The Ford Mustang was the most fun car to drive when it was introduced in 1964, and it’s the most fun car to drive today in the year 2011.  This piece of automotive muscle is an American classic.

The Ford Mustang GT has a 5L V8 engine capable of thrusting up to 435 horsepower.  When you sit in its leather seats and feel the hum of the engine, you’d think you were straddling a rocket.

The interior doesn’t worry about frills or unnecessary amenities.  The panels, consoles and steering wheel are simple but sexy.  This car focuses on driving.

In just 4.3 seconds, the Ford Mustang GT is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles an hour.  The vehicle handles turns and corners with precision, stamping its hooves into the asphalt ground.  The six-speed manual transmission is the only pair of reins drivers will have to control this beast.

There’s a reason why this car was named after one of the wildest, most untamed animals on the planet: it deserved to be.

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price: $30,495.

It doesn’t matter which of these three cars you choose to drive in 2011.  They are all powerful, attractive and instantly recognizable.  They provide drivers with one of the most important experiences a person can have in an automobile: fun.
