Ron Tonkin Acura Awarded Dealership of Distinction Honors

            Portland, OR – Acura has announced that Ron Tonkin Acura has earned its most prestigious honor – Dealership of Distinction. The award is presented annually to Acura dealers that achieve a rigorous set of objectives in the areas of client satisfaction, training, facility appearance, and finance. This is the 20th year that Ron Tonkin Acura has been recognized with Dealership of Distinction status. It is among 96 Acura dealerships across the United States qualifying for this elite recognition, and is one of only two dealerships to win the award 20 times.

In 1987, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., established the Dealership of Distinction award to recognize Acura dealerships that exemplify the core values of the brand. Each year the objectives are modified to continually challenge dealerships to excel in all areas of operation. A major component of the program focuses on the client experience and is measured via client satisfaction surveys.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Acura brand in North America. The 2012 Acura lineup features six distinctive models, including the RL luxury  performance sedan, the TL performance luxury sedan, the TSX sports sedan and wagon, the turbocharged RDX crossover SUV, the MDX luxury sport-utility vehicle, and the ZDX four-door sports coupe.

The Nissan LEAF was center-stage in a display of Japanese Electric Vehicles that captured the attention and imagination of approximately 300 V.I.P. guests in Oregon’s political, business, high-tech, clean-tech and – of course – Japanese-American communities during a recent Japanese Consulate event.  As part of their remarks, the electric vehicle display was praised from the podium by Consul General Okabe, Oregon Governor Kitzhaber and Portland Mayor Adams.

Joel Fowler, from Tonkin Wilsonville Nissan, brought a beautifully detailed Nissan LEAF to the event.  Joel answered questions from dozens of individuals.
